TO PHOTO GRAPHERS

R2I is looking for 5 PHOTOGRAPHERS to join the list of 10 who will participate in R2I 2024 Residency Program from 22.8-12.9.2024 in Ithaca-GR.

What is Return2Ithaca: An artist residency program that gives space to Greek and International photographers to be together in the island for 22 days producing personal work, as well as meeting with acclaimed curators to review their projects. Through in-depth acquaintance with the island, its history, the concepts, and the universal messages that gush from the Odyssey, the artists will produce their own personal work. Ithaca offers an opportunity for the presentation of photographic works of known artists from all parts of the world, for discussing and exchanging views on social, environmental, racial, and everyday issues that concern photography and arts today. A lively space that combines team interaction and work, with personal moments of relaxation and search for new expressive routes. The 2024 Theme is “Somewhere Called Home”

What distinguishes the Ithaca artists' Residency is the opportunity for artists to spend time with renowned curators, who are invited to the island to work with them, to exchange experiences, opinions and views for the artistic expression that springs out from the theme of the world-famous epic of the Odyssey, as well as gaining insides, reviews, and mentorship for their work in general. Curators who have participated in the past Return2Ithaca residencies were Marina Paulenka (DE), Alejandro Castellote (ES), Thomas Licek (AT) Krzysztof Candrowicz (PL) Martin Breindl (AT), Katharina Manojlovic (AT)

The Jury : Alejandro Castellote (Independent Curator, ES) – Nina Kassianou (Historian, Curator of photography and Founder of R2I Residency Program, GR) – Moritz Neumüller (Curator, Educator and Writer in the field of Photography and New Media)
